My plan is to drill down to the latest best practice in book marketing & publicity - practical ideas that you can apply to your books and business. I keep a very close eye on traditional publishers and their approach to marketing (I’m a judge for several UK industry awards), but keep a closer eye on indie authors and their very granular and effective approach to marketing.

This newsletter will include the best of both approaches.

Why should you trust what I have to say?

I worked on the industry magazine The Bookseller for years, running their events, awards, circulation and subscription strategies. Whilst there, I launched the community FutureBook, which charts the digital transformation of book publishing. I then worked at HarperCollins UK where I was head of audience development, responsible for large-scale marketing campaigns across all of their books. I also ran their author events programme, including a rather spectacular event with George RR Martin.

I am founder of Lounge Books, a community for book-lovers and Lounge Marketing, a book marketing resource for authors.
